Frontline Club and Restaurant was set up as a place for debate, conversation, eating and drinking. Originally founded for war journalists, it consists of a restaurant, bar, event venue and hotel rooms. Currently Frontline brings together a diverse group of people who share a passion for journalism, politics and current affairs. The restaurant is located within a 19th century industrial building.

The design counters the limitations of the space dedicated to the restaurant through a ‘double extension’ by adding a new mezzanine level and multiplying views through reflection. A polished chrome stair and walls create intriguing, multiple views and relationships between visitors and surrounding.

Design insertions such as the structural banquette seating along the edge of the mezzanine sit on the borderline between furniture and architecture. A monolithic bar of black stone with crystalline inclusions forms a sculptural central ground floor hub.
