Our client, an artist, asked us to transform the existing warehouse operating as his studio with minimal means.
We converted the front-façade with its integrated flower bed into a Huysmans-like black garden: Total color-coordination instead of physical intervention: Irredescent car paint creates black walls with a slight hue of dark purple, perfectly matching the plants. On the inside of the front facade color coordination is achieved through the use of white stretch metal sheets covering everything.
In the center of the open space we placed a multi-tasking shelving-staircase-object, separating studio and office as well as offering storage space, seating for video screenings, kitchen and a sleeping balcony.
